Active Aging Week – Be Active Your Way

active aging coupleDid you know that September 20–26 is the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA) Active Aging Week? Active Aging Week was created to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle for seniors on a national scale. The goal of Active Aging Week is to give as many older adults as possible the means to experience activities and exercise in a safe, friendly, no-pressure and fun atmosphere. This year’s theme is “Be Active Your Way.” In senior centers, retirement communities, parks and recreation centers across the country, Active Aging Week venues may provide information on a variety of subjects such as nutrition, brain fitness, heath & fitness assessments, games, walks and more.
